Hi! I’m Kelly.
I’ve been building websites since the 1990s.
But don’t worry, I’ve updated my skills several times over since then!
It began in a dim-lit computer lab of my university where I taught myself how to code. There I earned a Bachelor of Social Science with a major in media studies (don’t ask me why media was part of a “science” degree) and uploaded my first web page to Geocities.
After graduation I became a freelance web designer, working for clients around Australia and internationally. This was back in the day when tech dudes knew how to code a website but weren’t that great at making it look pretty (hey, that’s how it was in 2002, web design was still very new). I made a name for myself as the gal who could do both.
Eventually I took a sabbatical from my freelance career to return to academia and work on other projects, but my passion for web design never left me. I kept making websites, learning new skills, and staying up to date with changes in the industry. I also worked as a graphic designer intermittently.
In 2025 I returned to formal freelance work with Krafted by Kelly. And I must say, it feels like coming home. It’s so good to be back! I’m super excited to be designing for clients again.
When I’m not geeking out on web building, I can be found taking a constitutional around Lake Wendouree, relaxing with a good book, or studying how to interpret dreams (seriously, it’s bloody fascinating).
So, now that you know a little more about me, how about you?
Let’s chat and see if your project and my skills are a good fit.
